About the Role

Validity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to serve as its Accounts Payable Manager. Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for Validity's global accounts payable operations including the processing of invoices, responding to vendor payment inquiries, maintaining vendor records, disbursing payments to vendors and employees, and assisting with month-end close procedures.

The Accounts Payable Manager will play a key role in the build-out of Validity's Procure to Pay (P2P) function, including optimizing technology to increase efficiency, implementing processes, policies, and procedures, and building a team that will scale with Validity's business as it grows. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing the administration of credit card and travel programs, establishing policies and procedures, and robust knowledge of ERP, banking, and procurement systems.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

* Maintain end-to-end responsibility for key Accounts Payable processes
* Manage external vendor and internal customer relationships
* Manage all aspects of the vendor payment process
* Ensure vendor invoices are entered into Netsuite in a timely manner and classified accurately in the General Ledger
* Review and approve employee expense reports within Concur on a weekly basis and ensure all expenses follow company policies
* Review invoices received for compliance with sales and use tax rules
* Maintain the AP email inbox and ensure all issues are resolved daily
* Oversee the 1099 reporting process at year-end
* Maintain all W-9 reporting for vendors
* Oversee the administration, reporting, and payments associated with the company's credit card programs
* Assist with year-end audits and any additional compliance engagements
* Implement and drive adoption of a new purchase order and invoice approval system together with other members of the Finance team
* Automate aspects of the accounts payable process by utilizing functionality offered by Netsuite and Validity's new banking platform
* Build and manage an accounts payable team containing direct reports as the Company grows
* Design, document, and implement critical policies across the organization

Required Experience, Skills, and Education

* 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance Operations, Accounts Payable or Accounting including in a team/people manager capacity
* Demonstrated ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
* Experience working with multi-currency disbursements
* Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP system; high level of proficiency in Excel
* Track record of documenting, implementing, and communicating policies and procedures
* Knowledge of internal controls required throughout the P2P function
* Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Highly organized, detail and process-oriented; develops and executes project plans within designated timelines
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to achieve common goals
* Ability to prioritize and multi-task in high growth, fast-paced environment
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and make judgment-based decisions with a good sense for when escalation and additional communication may be necessary

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited college or university
* Prior experience working at an international SaaS company
* Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Concur, and global banking platforms
* Experience with the administration of credit card programs including travel, procurement, and virtual cards
* Highly organized, detail and process-oriented; develops and executes project plans within designated timelines
